My first bodybuilding competition?

Hey guys, alright I know it’s kinda early, but I’m sort of preparing myself for a competition next year. Thing is, I’m planning to get the physique I desire by the end of this year, and I’ve got some fat to lose. I’ve been gaining muscle just fine, the fat part’s the problem.

So how do I lose fat, without losing no muscle, or as little muscle as possible? How should my diet go on about? Carbs, before and after a workout session only? Cardio without eating in the morning first, or whenever it fits my schedule perfectly? And low-moderate intensity?

*I’m only taking the Optimum Nutrition 100% Gold Standard Whey Protein shake, 3-4 scoops a day, no roids, no growth hormones (and I don’t intend to) , just a protein shake before and after workouts.

yeahh i know i should bulking first, which I am, but I intend on cutting in a couple of months time. I’ve got fat a bit of everywhere, which hides my definition, so I find it hard to at least see if I’ve been growing bigger. I’ve got love handles I intend to lose. So I just wanna lose a bit first before I start bulking again, before on-season starts.

    Your nutrition should be dialed in, just like you are planning to do. You can still gain muscle while decreasing your body fat. Continue to lift like you normally do, you obviously need to make some changes the closer you get to the competition. As far as a diet, stick with a 60/20/20 ratio. Make sure your whey protein is chemical free and has no additives or fillers.

    If the competition is NEXT year, what are you doing cutting? BULK UP if you want to win that competition, man! You’re going to have all the time in the world to cut down; worry about it later. Trust me, this is the way to go.
