Technically, dopamine agonist, exercise stage 3 and 4 sleep, stress and, puberty STIMULATE growth hormone…

It’s a fake pill doctors give you to make feel better. It’s based on the principal that if you think you are taking an effective people you will also fool yourself into believing that it is working. Just google placebo affect.

Is this a challenge of the conventional wisdom that one should, immediately post workout, consume a high protein high carbohydrate drink?
I was always under the conventional impression, as a layman, that the catabolism post workout was a catabolizing of lean muscle tissue.

Okay, thanks for the info but I’d really prefer to read a proper section on this from a college biobook. What is the placebo?? In general a placebo pill that a doctor gives a patient is just a fake (a pill with nothing to affect you). So this means the placebo here is what? And it increased the GH lv more than glucose and fat ? We know carbs give quicker energy to the muscles than fat so rather have that for the best workout energy. Still, working out on an empty stomach???? Need more info!!!
A placebo is the act of someone feeling better because they expected a certain remedy to work. Placebo pills are used to have that effect.
The placebo isn’t much of a placebo. Did they establish the effects of aspartame on GH levels after exercise before hand. What about aspartame vs distilled water or something else that might be considered neutral…

how stupid is it to EAT BEFORE you ex. you eat AFTER ex. not before…you want your insulin level low so that the body burns fat and carbs much better…and GH are just incidental to ex and you cannot really change it unless you take illegal drugs.
